#2

Chromatics

Chromatic exercises will focus on the chromatic scale, and a number of variations throughout the horn. This section also breaks the chromatic scale into chromatic intervals: seconds and flat thirds.

#4

Intervals

This section refers to diatonic intervals based on major, harmonic and melodic minor scales. Speed, accuracy, and control are developed most thoroughly playing intervals.

#6

Miscellaneous Exercises

This section features many key and interesting exercises that might not be found in traditional technique books. You will find numerous jazz patterns that are critical for developing evenness.

#1

Tone

Tone exercises will address basic tone color, breath building, embouchure stability, intonation, and articulation.

#3

Scales

Featuring diatonic scales and related studies, students will be ‘cross-trained’ in a variety of methods while still attacking the problem of scales. Scales include major, harmonic minor, melodic minor, and the whole tone scale.

#5

Arpeggios

Arpeggios features triads in all inversions. This section covers major, minor, diminished, and augmented triads.
